When you have a handset that costs £510 it’s very unlikely that you would want to use it without protection. The HTC One, despite having an all metal body, sadly isn’t as sturdy as we would hope it would be with the top and bottom speaker grills being held together with glue so with that in mind I have decided to look at some of the HTC One cases and see which of them offers the best protection for the lowest cost whilst not scrimping on aesthetics.

The official HTC One Hard Case is manufactured with a tough polycarbonate and comes in three parts.
The tough polycarbonate material is pretty strong and doesn’t seem to flex under pressure
As this is an official HTC One case it’s unlikely that the port cutouts wouldn’t match up however the plastic that acts as the volume up and down key is fairly stiff when it comes to controlling the volume and you may have to press a little harder on the plastic than you feel you need to to.
This is one of the easiest cases to fit I have ever used, the first of the three separate parts (top speaker grill cover) simply slots over the top, the main body slides up the device to click into place and the lower speaker grill cover clicks into the main body (as seen in the video)
As for removing the case from the device, it comes off pretty easy though I wouldn’t advise doing it too often as through time it’s likely that the grips would loosen making it fairly loose which is never a good thing.
The case will offer minimal protection however with the lip on the case it’s unlikely that a small fall to the ground would affect the screen (I did say unlikely mind). As far as what seems like the most vulnerable part of the device goes (the speaker grills) the case offers pretty solid protection as it’s likely that they will break open on hard impact saving the device itself.
If you can forget about the colours shown in this review (as there are a few options available) then this is a very nice looking case. It doesn’t detract too much from the amazing looks of the HTC One case and with the case itself being slim in design you also don’t look like your holding a brick.
