HTC has made a commitment to Android L almost instantly after it’s announcement. As part of their HTC Advantage program, the OEM has stated they will push out OTAs for the M7 and M8 within 90 days from reception of final software from Google. This will most likely be in the same fashion as when KitKat rolled out not long ago.
HTC has made a commitment to Android updates for all of their new devices. For up to two years from launch, the manufacturer has promised to support them with prompt software updates so their phones stay current and secure. Further, they have been extremely transparent with updates on their blog, Twitter and other means.
I wish every OEM was like HTC in this aspect. Transparent on when updates are coming and standing behind their devices. That’s customer service, and should be expected from every single OEM out there.
If you own a HTC M7 or M8, stay tuned to the software updates page. This will keep you in the know for when they have the software and statuses as it goes through approval and pushes out.
