Over at PocketNow and their “reliable source”, they have some interesting images and details on possibly the first quad-core Smartphone. The HTC Edge will apparently come with a 4.7” inch display and just a fraction over ten millimetres thick, likely to feature the same 1280x720p resolution that we see on the Galaxy Nexus, HTC Rezound and many handsets that are coming, also as well as that it’ll will house 1GB of RAM, and a backlit eight-megapixel camera with 28-millimetre, f/2.2 lens.
Now to the juicy part and that’s the processor, yes the HTC Edge will supposedly be powered by AP30 Tegra 3 CPU from Nvidia, which offers four 1.5GHz cores, although it may be rumoured now to be running a 1280×720 resolution, The NVIDIA AP30 can offer quad-core SoCs capable of driving 1366 x 768 displays. This could be a standing and selling point for HTC ahead of Samsung if they get to that point first. The NVIDIA AP30 also boasts 3x Faster graphics and a hell of a lot more.
Going along with Beats Audio, 32GB internal storage, Bluetooth Radio, and we could be seeing the first device with Sense 4.0 running on Ice Cream Sandwich.
As well as these impressive specs, details and aspects we also could be seeing HTC and their services brought to the forefront a lot more. HTC Bookstore, HTC music Store, and a lot more services brought together under the Sense experience and cloud adventure.
Apparently the HTC Edge will arrive in late Q1/Q2 or next year sometime. Is this the big device that’ll be the flag carrier and rival the Galaxy Nexus, the rumoured Galaxy SIII, Sony Ericsson Arc HD and more? – Well we’ll have to wait and see, but if the specs are to go by then it’s pretty impressive.
