We have been hearing several rumours recently of Philips prepping their entry into the Android market space and today it looks to have emerged reality.
The first ever Philips Android handset looks like this spec wise:
- Android 2.2
- Qualcomm QSD8250 1GHz CPU
- 512MB RAM
- 512MB ROM
- 117 × 66 × 10.5mm
- Weight: Unknown
- 4.3 inch Capacitive LCD
- 800 × 480 WVGA
- Philips UI (Not AOSP)
- 5MP Camera with auto-focus and LED flash
- W-CDMA (850/1900/2100MHz)
- GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz)
- HSPA, GPRS
- WiFi 802.11 b / g
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- Li-Ion 1280mAh Battery
Admittedly if you are making an entrance it should surely be a bigger one than this no? With a 1GHz CPU and running on Froyo it can’t enter that show stopping arena and a price tag of £400 (¥3980.00) certainly wont help it!

The price is in Chinese yuan so 3980 is around £400, not £32. I think you got Yuan and Yen mixed up :)
