My favourite type of casual games tend to be physics type games which require minimal input. They’re ideal for a quick 5 minute play whilst waiting for tea to brew or just for the hell of it. So, naturally I was rather excited when I came across ‘Elastic World’ in the Google play store. (I’m a sucker for colourful banners and this was a featured app at the time!)
Whilst having only been released for a short time, the game seems to have been downloaded quite a lot. And why not? It looks pretty, has a simple looking game play, and promises a challenge.
The game play is indeed nice and simple. You press the screen and the jelly shapes morph into another position and style. This enables you to bounce the ball into the star, which is the aim after all. It’s easy enough to get the hang of the controls and the physics seem rather realistic and have not been screwed with.
That being said, there are currently 40 levels available in 2 zones, starting with 10 to get you going. A third zone is marked as coming soon, so hopefully Monkey I-Brow studios have something up their sleeve
I say this because it got way to repetitive, way to fast. There’s just isn’t enough variation. Oh look, a red blob, oh look, now an orange one. In a different shape. Omg *wetpants* 2 stars!
Meh.
I’d still give this game a 3. It’s a pretty well made game that started enjoyably. It just gets a bit repetitive. Oh, and it has feint. I do not wish to use feint. Stop opening it every time I open the game!
