MWC 2012 is fast approaching and in preparation, and to whet the appetite, LG has announced their Optimus L-Series of smartphones. The models are the L3, L5 and L7 with each sure to have their own set of groupies. The LG Press Release contains some overview information about this new line (translated):
- ‘Floating Mass Technology Apply’ display
- Corner Angle stressed thin design of the square
- Refinement of the metal felt warm, textured leather back cover
First up is the L3, which will be the lower-end of the line with a 3.2-inch display running Android 2.3, and a rumored 3 MP rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi and HSPA. Figure this to be the alternative for the original low-end Optimus devices (S, V, T, etc.). The next one is the mid-range L5 which should run Android 4.0 and a 4-inch screen with something they are calling “enhanced readability” but nothing else is known about it as of yet. The final one is the high-end L7 and it will pack a 4.3-inch screen with Android 4.0. Nothing else is noted about this device so expect full details about all of these sometime next week.
