This device is definitely not the first tablet to be aimed at children; look at the Nabi tablet and the OLPC tablet.
Oregon Scientific are the next to step up to child’s tablet market, with their new tablet, the MEEP! The device has a 7 inch screen, WiFi and a gsensor. It also has an SD card slot.
It also has parental controls which can be viewed and changed on any computer or smartphone. Not much else is known about the device, such as processor, RAM and what version of Android it runs, but apart from that it has a rugged case to protect it from those knocks and bumps.
