I bet you haven’t heard anything about Carrier IQ lately, and yesterday when the LG Revolution got an update that included a Remote Diagnostic Tool, people began to freak out wondering if this was another version of Carrier IQ.
Verizon had this to say about the topic:
"no personal data like keystrokes or web history, location, etc., is logged or saved."
Basically Verizon is making sure everyone understands they are not invading your privacy and none of your personal data will be tracked, stored, or distributed. The tool is more like a remote desktop type of thing as a Verizon spokesperson said.
For now we have to take Verizon’s word when they say they are not tracking any kind of personal data, unless someone else finds otherwise.

Verizon can track anything they want about their customers. You signed that when you started your contract with them!
