I know that it is customary for people to do unboxing videos. Unfortunately, I do not have a camera that is good enough for an unboxing. So, to keep everyone happy, I decided to do an unboxing with pictures. I saw this idea somewhere, and I thought I might as well try it out. Plus, you guys don’t have to hear my voice, and you also don’t have to deal
with crappy recordings. It’s a win for everyone!
In case you didn’t know, Co-Star is a Google TV set-top box. You hook it up to your TV and satellite/cable box using HDMI cords. Then, you get all the goodness of Google TV (you know, Chrome Browser, Google Play Store apps, and all kinds of other awesome integration) for only $99!
Alright, first things first. My VIZIO Co-Star got to my house at approximately 12:35 pm. The box is very simple and very light. FedEx stated that the package only weighed 1.7 lbs. The box has the words “Watch This” (as pictured below), and it also has the VIZIO logo on two sides.Â
Here’s the bottom of the box:
When I opened the box (all you need to do is cut the little circular piece of tape that connects the box), this is what I saw.
When you take the Quick Start Guide out, you get all of these goodies!
There’s really not much to the inside of the box. But, to show you everything in its glory, I took everything out of the box!
My first thought when I saw all of the components of the box was “Oh, how nice of VIZIO to give me batteries!”
There it is! That’s what’s inside the VIZIO Co-Star box! At the moment, I’m currently setting up my box, and keeping notes on the set up process for the review that I am also writing up. So sit tight, guys!
If you have any specific questions about Co-Star that you would like me to answer while I am writing my review, I would love to help you out! Just comment on this unboxing and I will do my best to answer your questions to the best of my ability.
I would like to know more about the 3D support.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a 3D TV at the moment, but I will see if I can find some reviews from people who have a 3D TV that they have tried Co-Star on.
Have you tried any apps yet? Specifically, I’m interested in music apps (e.g. Spotify, Amazon Cloud Player, Google Music, etc.)
Google Music is not available.
I know that Google Music just got an update for Google TVs. I’ll be sure to do a mini review in my overall review.
Would love to hear more about it. I missed the pre-order ship and now waiting for it to be available again.
