Well Well Well leave it to Samsung to uglify possible the most beautiful OS out there. That might be harsh but boy do I hate touchwiz, bias aside let’s have a look at how Samsung is doing with their lollipop update to the Galaxy S5. Samsung is now using the LRX02E build of lollipop as a base which seems to not be the most recent considering they are missing the lollipop branding, as shown by the missing lollipops in the easter egg flappy bird game. As for the UI changes there’s a long list but most notable are:
- The new system font which is thinner than the old one
- New animations which are smoother than the first build
- A new settings UI
- The Google search bar in the recent menu
- Android Lollipop green changed to Samsung blue
While yes this build is better looking and I’m loving that thinner font I still wish they would take a step back and let Android shine through.
If you want to see the full list and a video of the new alpha build head over to Sammobile who were lucky enough to get their hands on the build. Unfortuanetly they won’t be leaking the build to the public but at least we can look and see the progress.
